1969 founding partner in John Singleton’s Communications Supermarket and in 1971 launched The Sales Machine, Australia’s first full-service “below the line” agency focussed on non advertising communications management and media liaison

since consulted to many major companies in NSW, Victoria and Queensland including ACP, Beecham, Cadbury Schweppes, Colgate, Dulux, Heinz, Reckitt & Colman, UBA, Unilever, Qantas and Max Factor (campaign won Hoover Marketing Award 1979)

1976/80 initiated, organised and chaired major seminars for the Supermarketing and Pharmacy industries in partnership with Family Circle magazine. Also member of the Sydney Festival Committee and the board of the Sydney Convention Bureau

1977 personal marketing adviser to Kerry Packer for the launch of World Series Cricket

1980 Sawyer Public Relations incorporated

1986 relocated company to Queensland to direct all publicity, promotion and positioning for the launch of the Mirage Resorts at Port Douglas and Gold Coast and opened office in Los Angeles for Hawaii and California, including major golf events and briefly MGM Studios

1991 established Crisis Management resource; dealt with Sea World fatal helicopter crash, McCafferty’s Coaches

(1993 – 2004), Cubbie Station (2002 – 2005) resisted Qld Govt water takeover and Noosa Nursing Home (2011) dispute with Federal Government – also created strategies for Brisbane Convention Centre and clients generally

1991/94 launch and ongoing promotion for Twin Waters Resort on Sunshine Coast and 1996 the national launch of Euro Asia Hotel group

1992/94 consulted to QTTC (now Tourism Queensland) successfully reinstated Tourism Week and created “Say G’day, Enjoy Your Stay”, still used – and in 2005 to promote the Queensland Tourism Awards – generated record level of entries

1992/93 managed first Queensland Export Awards for Wayne Goss/Premier’s Department

1995 launched Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre – still associated

2001 responsible for media feature of IPO of ABC Learning Centres
other clients included major marketing and project launches for property developers Mirvac, Walker Corp, Devine and Baulderstone Hornibrook, Woods Bagot architects, several tourism properties including Sea World and Dreamworld , Hope Island and Royal Pines, openings of The Polo Club, several hotels, restaurants and recently the launch of Media Circus media agency

managed and promoted a number of sports events including Tooths KB Games (Sydney), Mirage Skins and Aust/GB Golf “Test”, the annual Jack Newton Classic Celebrity event, Peter Thompson designed courses and the Mt Coot-Tha Classic for the Historic Racing Car Club

2004/2011 consulted for the launch of Refund Home Loans and the subsequent addition of synergistic businesses
